The Helen McCann White History Research Library is located in a late 1880's Queen Anne style house at 13112 Third Avene North, Lindstrom, MN, two blocks north of Highway 8 on Olinda Trail. Our building is located only a few blocks northeast of downtown Lindstrom. Click here for a map.

Research Library Hours:
During the winter season the research library is open on a "by appointment" basis. Please call for access to our research materials before stopping by.

Our office building has one meeting room that will accommodate small groups of up to 12 people. The facility is available for use by school groups and other educational programs. Free off-street parking and WiFi access are available.

Our Research Library has been consolodated on the lower level of our office building for more convenient access. The library storage has been expanded and reorganized to help you locate resource materials more efficiently.

A new high-speed Kyocera copy machine has been added for your convenience. It provides high-quailty copies, up to 11"x17" for 25 cents each

A new digital microfilm system has been installed to provide high-quality printed output as well as pdf files that can be transferred to your USB memory card or sent directly to your email address. This state-of-the-art system was financed in part by a MN Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant..

Our free on-site WiFi service allows you to connect to the internet during your visit.

Our outlying historical sites and museums are open during the summer tourist season only.

The Gustaf Anderson House is currently unavailable for tours or events during
2016 as we evaluate and prepare for maintenance and rennovations to this historic house.

Our online indexes have been moved to a new web page. Please click here or the button to the right to visit that page. Brief descriptions are provided of each index. These pdf files can be downloaded and searched using the Adobe Reader program.
Our Facebook group:
Our Facebook group allows us to expand our ability to support your research inquiries. When you join (it's free), your messages will reach other people who share a common interest in our local events and history. Click the "Find us on Facebook" menu button to the left!

Additional research help:
For extensive research projects we will refer you to local professional genealogists who are specialists in this area. Rates vary from $35 per hour for non-members to $25 per hour for CCHS members. There is a one-hour minimum.

A basic membership in the historical society will quickly pay for itself. With a basic membership you also receive our quarterly
Chisago Heritage Journal!

Are you coming to visit from a distance? Please call 651-257-5310 to schedule an appointment. If your call rolls over into voice mail, please leave a detailed message and advise us of your preferred appointment date and time. Be sure to leave your name and a contact telephone number where we can reach you.

Research requests may be submitted via email. Please be specific as possible about names and dates regarding your request. There is generally no fee involved for simple requests by CCHS members. Please allow two weeks for our response.
